PRDP for Credit Suisse First
Boston at Canary Wharf
Brief
Credit Suisse First Boston had predicted that staff numbers at
their Canary Wharf UK headquarters would rise to 6000 by early 2000.
To accommodate this growth, they planned to create a new restaurant
spanning their old and new buildings on the ninth floor.
We were invited to work with PRDP to design a solution that would
build in flexibility through appropriate design and equipment to
enable the operation of diverse menus and service styles.
Solution
A new build project, this 750-seat staff restaurant is one of
the largest in the UK producing in excess of 3500 meals per day.
State-of-the-art food service and equipment systems are used to
provide an exceptional menu offer and environment for its discerning
customers. The restaurant is integrated with a small shopping mall
which allows staff to make better use of their breaks on what is
a huge site. ‘The Fayre’ theme was chosen to reflect
the traditional fairs that were held on this location in days gone
by. Picture research in this area yielded a wonderful series of
black and white photographs that we used as artworks. A genuine
carousel horse was also installed near the lifts, adding to the
atmosphere. |
